This project cuts fabric for an eye mask and eyelash decoration in iron-on.

Print Project

Step 1

First, click here for the design in Cricut® Design Space™.
TIP: Read through the entire project before starting beginning.

Step 2

To make changes to this project, use the mat preview screen to move pieces to different mats.
TIP: Try not to rotate the pieces, as they are arranged to follow the grain of the fabric.

Step 3

Pre-cut fabric by hand to fit on mat. Please note the direction of the grain for each fabric piece.
TIP: Make sure to pre-shrink fabric by pre-washing washables or steam-pressing non-washables.

Step 4

Cut one 9" x 8" [22.9 cm x 20.3 cm] piece of black fabric, with the grain running parallel to the 9" [22.9 cm] side.

Step 5

For mat 1, place the piece of batting onto the mat.

Step 6

For mat 2, place the piece of black fabric right (pattern) side down onto the mat with the grain running the length of the mat.

Step 7

For mat 3, place the Gold iron-on on the mat, shiny backer side down.

Step 8

Be sure to mirror the image when using iron-on and place the shiny side (clear liner) down on the mat.

Step 9

Sandwich the piping strip between the right sides of the mask pieces, matching raw edges of mask and piping. Place batting on wrong side of one mask piece. Pin in place.

Step 10

Place one side of the elastic into the side of the mask, with the elastic sandwiched between the right sides of the fabric.

Step 11

Sew around the outer edge of the sleep mask, using a ¼" [0.6 cm] seam allowance and a zipper foot. Leave a 2" [5.1 cm] turning hole open.

Step 12

Turn the sleep mask right side out and press. One side of the elastic should still be free.

Step 13

Use a weeder tool to remove the negative pieces of iron-on so just your design remains on the clear liner.

Step 14

Apply the iron-on layers to your project using a Cricut® EasyPress™ and mat.

Step 15

Measure the elastic to fit and pin it in place with the end going into the turning hole.

Step 16

Pin the turning hole so the trim, seam allowance, and elastic are turned in, and press if necessary.

Step 17

Top stitch the turning hole shut, securing the free end of the elastic.
