Create a tote bag and this sweet design using Infusible Ink™ transfer sheets. For best results, use Infusible Ink™ compatible blanks.

Print Project

Step 1

First, click here to go directly to the design in Cricut® Design Space™.

Step 2

Size the design as you would like it to appear on your tote.
TIP: If you want to change any colours, to make it easier to keep track of your layers when cutting, do so, in the ‘Edit’ panel.

Step 3

Click ‘Make It’ in the upper right corner of your screen.

Step 4

In your preview screen, check ‘Mirror’ in the left panel for each mat, to reverse your image.

Step 5

Now, click ‘Continue’ in the bottom right corner of your screen, and choose the material for your first layer.
TIP: When working with multiple iron-on colours, be sure to pay close attention to the left panel on your preview screen to know which layer is cutting, so you know which colour to load.

Step 6

Place the Infusible Ink™ material, ink/pattern-side up, onto your cutting mat. Load the mat into your Cricut® machine, then press the blinking Cricut® icon to start cutting.

Step 7

Once your machine is done cutting each colour, use scissors to cut your design from the iron-on material rolls. Next, use your weeder tool to remove all the excess material around and inside your design. You’ll be left with just the reversed design on the clear plastic carrier sheets, which are slightly sticky.
TIP: Weeding is very easy Infusible Ink™ material! You can bend the material and the pieces will lift. Weeding can pretty much be done with your hands.

Step 8

Preheat your EasyPress™ to the appropriate temperature for your material and, if needed, adjust the timer.

Step 9

Place a piece of cardstock onto your EasyPress™ mat and place a piece of butcher paper inside your shirt. Now, lay your shirt on top of your EasyPress™ mat, place a piece of butcher paper on top of your shirt and use a lint roller over the area where you want your design; then preheat the fabric for 15 seconds to remove any moisture.
TIP: The cardstock protects your EasyPress™ mat from any excess ink. If you get any ink on your mat, it will transfer onto your next project when heated.

Step 10

Remove the butcher paper from the top of your tote, place your ink design on your tote and place butcher paper over your design.

Step 11

Carefully place your EasyPress™ over your design. Hold in place with gentle pressure.
TIP: Be careful to keep the EasyPress™ very still on top of your design. Shifting the design in anyway can cause unfavourable results, such as “shadowing”.

Step 12

After 45 seconds of heat, carefully remove your EasyPress™. Again, try not to move your design. Let it cool for about a minute or so and then remove the backing from your tote.
TIP: You want to remove the backing from your tote in one quick action rather than slowly removing as you would iron-on material.
