Step 1 |
First, click here for the design in Cricut® Design Space™. |
Step 2 |
Size the butterflies, if desired. |
Step 3 |
Click ‘Make It’ in the upper right corner of your screen. |
Step 4 |
Now, click ‘Continue’ in the bottom right corner of your screen and choose the correct material. |
Step 5 |
Place the first cardstock layer onto your cutting mat. Load the mat into your Cricut® machine, then press the blinking Cricut® icon to start cutting. |
Step 6 |
Once your machine is done cutting, carefully peel the cut design from the mat. Set aside. |
Step 7 |
Repeat Steps 6-7 for each shade of cardstock. |
Step 8 |
Cut 15 lengths of transite about 36" [91.4 cm]. |
Step 9 |
Lay one butterfly on your work surface and brush Mod Podge® onto the middle part (the body), lay one end of a piece of transite on and then lay the other matching butterfly on top. Let dry. Repeat this for each butterfly. |
Step 10 |
Now, add Mod Podge® to the outside body of each butterfly and add glitter. Tap off the glitter and let dry. Repeat for the other side of each butterfly. |
Step 11 |
Separate the embroidery hoop pieces and use the solid hoop to hang your butterflies. Thread the beads onto the wire and wrap it around the hoop, securing the wire at the end. |
Step 12 |
Start with the orange butterflies (or desired set) and tie each butterfly onto the hoop. Then add the yellow butterflies (or next desired set) below the first. Repeat for the remaining three sets. |
Step 13 |
Trim the ends of the transite and the top of the hoop. |
Step 14 |
Cut four lengths of yarn that are about 12" [30.5 cm] long to make a hanger for the top. Tie each piece of yarn to the hoop, then gather the lengths and tie a knot, then a loop to make a hanger. Trim excess yarn. |
