Step 2 |
Make sure your fabric is clean, dry, and ironed before placing it on the mat. Adhere the fabric firmly with hand pressure or a rolling brayer. |
Step 3 |
Mats 1 and 2: place 12" x 22" [30.5 cm x 56 cm] piece of fabric for the inside of the stocking and cuff on your mat. |
Step 4 |
Mat 3: place a 12" x 12" [30.5 cm x 30.5 cm] piece of green stripe fabric on your mat for the toe and heel. |
Step 5 |
Mats 4 and 5: place 12" x 22" [30.5 cm x 56 cm] piece of reindeer print fabric for the outside of the stocking on your mat. |
Step 6 |
With right sides together, sew the toes and heel of the stocking to the outside piece of the stocking. Make sure to align the correct side to the seam for proper fit on the heel piece. |
Step 7 |
Before turning, generously clip the curve of the seam to allow the curve to lie flat. Press. |
Step 8 |
Place the two stocking outsides right sides together, and sew around the edges, except for the top edge. |
Step 9 |
Use the cardstock pattern to cut out the inside pieces of the stocking from the faux fur. If you are using regular fabric, the inside pieces may be cut out with your Cricut® Maker™ 3 machine. |
Step 10 |
Place the two stocking insides right sides together, and sew around the edges, except for the top edge. |
Step 11 |
Clip the curves, including in front of the ankle, before turning. |
Step 12 |
Turn the outside of the stocking right side out, then set it into the inside of the stocking, which should still have the right sides together. |
Step 13 |
Sew most of the way around the top edge, but leave about 4" [10 cm] open as a turning hole. |
Step 14 |
Turn the stocking right side out, then push the interior of the stocking inside and into shape. |
Step 15 |
Hand stitch the turning hole closed on the top edge using a whip stitch. |
Step 16 |
Turn the top of the stocking down so it forms a cuff across the top. |
